Round 3 - Return of the Meme

General Rules

Larry ran around the flat cursing, he’d lost his bloody cufflinks, another reason to hate suits he thought. I mean, he thought as he rummaged frantically through drawers, what is the point of a shirt that doesn’t actually have buttons on the end of the sleeves?? You buy a really expensive shirt (well technically Ben had brought him a really expensive shirt) and all you get at the end of the sleeves are two bloody holes so you have to buy stupid metal things to fasten them with, I mean why??

The doorbell rang, bugger he thought, that’ll be Ben early as usual. He ran to the door trying to button up his shirt at the same time and flung it open. Oh!

As he had predicted it was Ben standing on the doorstep smiling at him wearing a dark suit, pristine white shirt and a dark red tie. Larry sagged against the doorframe for a moment and then shut the door on a confused Ben.

“Larry?” Ben banged on the door “Larry?? What are you playing at?? Let me in”

“No it’s best I don’t” said Larry through the letterbox “if you come in looking like that I may not be responsible for my actions”

Ben laughed “let me in you massive idiot, it’s cold”

“Alright but on your head be it” said Larry and opened the door. Ben gave him his best half smile, half smirk, the one that he knew made Larry go in his own words ‘like a jelly teapot, all hot and wobbly’

“You’re doing the sex look on purpose” said Larry “I order you to cease and desist immediately”

Ben grinned at him and raised his eyebrow.

“I mean it” said Larry his fingers forming a mock crucifix “get thee away from me with all that sexiness”

“You don’t mean that” said Ben kissing him lightly at first but more slowly and deeply as Larry leaned in winding his arms around him.

“I do” gasped Larry against his mouth, “I insist you stop at once, I wouldn’t want you to think I enjoy this sort of thing”

Ben pulled back, his lips centimetres from Larry’s “oh I can tell how much you hate it” he said, his tongue flicking lightly over Larry’s mouth “and find the whole experience a total turn off” and he pulled Larry against him as he pushed his tongue back into his mouth.

It was still a bit of a mystery to Larry how he had ended up with Ben. He remembered the first time they’d been introduced; Larry hadn’t been at all sure that this well spoken, handsome, intelligent man was going to fit at all with the kind of scripts that he’d written. Surely he was just well, far too sensible and grown up for silly costumes and even sillier voices - and then he’d seen him perform and realised that casting had been right and he was perfect.

He was also fucking gorgeous and Larry had thought he stood no chance especially when Mat had showed up, all eyes and hair and smile. But Ben had never seemed interested in Mat and over time, he and Larry had spent more time together as friends, progressing to rather awkward twitter flirting and then actual flirting and then dating.

Even now a year later, Larry still rewarded himself with the occasional lap of honour around the flat over the fact that he’d bagged Ben.

Back in real time, he felt himself melt into Ben, and was overcome with an urge to just shove him down on the sofa and ravish him, possessed with the urge to see him all dishevelled and rumpled, moaning his name...mmmmm maybe they really should just stay here...but no!

He shoved Ben away firmly

“Behave Benjamin” he said his voice none too steady “I need to finish getting dressed and then we have to go”

“Thanks, I bet you were born knowing how to do ties up weren’t you?”

“Yes along with how to smoke cigars, change a tap washer and which wine to order with what food – or maybe I just learnt it along with everyone else” he said smiling and rolling his eyes

Larry grinned and nuzzled against him for a moment “hey I’m not complaining, I love it that you know how to do man stuff”

“and I love it that you know how to do woman stuff” said Ben solemnly, Larry slapped him “ow, alright I love it that you have an insanely creative mind, that you make me laugh and that you are the kindest person I know” He wrapped his arms around Larry and hugged him tighter “seriously I love it” he said

They grinned bashfully at each other “we really should go” said Ben

“I know I know....”

Family Christmases

Eventually, George exploded, much like the buttons on his trousers had after his third helping of Christmas pudding.

“Did you just call me fat? You just called me fat! God, Dad, it’s no wonder everyone thinks you’re mental! You’ve got no idea about manners, or tact, or - or anything.”

“Now look here, young man,” said George’s father to the Christmas tree. “Your behaviour has been absolutely appalling today. I got you all the things you asked for -”
