Because I suppose we all need somewhere to squee.
Venting frustrations is what anon memes are made for, but keep it respectful.

WIP or abandoned
Date: 2011-08-30 07:00 am (UTC)I wondered though whether, if people genuinely can't finish a fic, they could post somewhere asking for someone to finish it? That way people aren't beating heads against laptops trying to finish something they can't and the lovely fics get filled and not left hanging :o)

Date: 2011-08-30 06:09 pm (UTC)You've also got to remember that people are writing these stories for free, out of love for the fandom, usually anonymously; a writer isn't obliged to anyone.
I'm the writer of the 'Ben Willbond gets swapped with Alexander the Great' story, and I'll admit it's going slowly - especially because I got hit with an idea for a massive epic in one of my other fandoms that I've been working on all weekend - but that doesn't mean I've forgotten or I haven't finished what I started!
I think it would be nice as a matter of anon meme etiquette for maybe people to say when they can't finish something, so nobody's left hanging, and if they want someone else to pick it up, to say so. But I'd also say just be patient - a lot of WIPs that might seem 'abandoned' aren't.
Also, nobody minds more than one fill for a prompt, right?
