Re: Rank insignia
Now that you mention it actually though, they would be higher up in that sketch, because they're talking about going to war (and then presumably tactics), and a Lieutenant and Captain (poss) wouldn't get invited to those conversations as they're too low down the ladder.
*bats away the plot bunny but it's too quick*
I shall get back to you on this!
Re: Rank insignia
God-damnit *Plot bunny turns into plot octopus*
Re: Rank insignia
I found this picture, and it confirms that Blekinsop is a major since you can clearly see the crown on his left arm. (or there is a shape of a crown)
If one look at their collar badges one will find that Blekinsop has a badge carried by the ”Royal Fusiliers”, so Blekinsop lived in London. (I think, not sure at all...)
Jims badge is definitively a wreath of some sort.
Someone should ask the cast, they are always so friendly, Jim even answered when someone asked about lyrics.
But hey, we don't know, it's not canon until we are sure! Maybe they just messed up, right? Right?
Re: Rank insignia
*clings to headcanon*
Re: Rank insignia
Awesome research on the regiments hun :D
Re: Rank insignia
I am a bit unsure of the regiments still... maybe the Royal Fusilier is just a Grenade Badge?
Also when looking at some promo-pictures of Maltravers, his collar badge also seam to have a crown on top of it... it could be another fusilier flame, but I am not sure.
You have probably seen this pic before but I am posting anyway... (it's my new goal in life to find out what Maltravers rank and regiment is!)
Am I the only one who kind of enjoy the way this is heading? XD
I imagine them going to boarding school, Blekinsop going to war, leaving Maltravers behind. (because Maltravers is smart and avoids it, Blekinsop is not) He comes home unharmed, and they returned to their peaceful life together (for 13 years, but whatever) and suddenly there is a war again. Also it means that it would be a smaller risk for them having to fight in WWII.
But I still like the idea of a young Blekinsop and Maltravers. <3
Now to a bit of rambling about Agent Blekinsop from WWII (the code mix-up sketch) if anyone ever would be interested.
So Blekinsop would've had to be 18 years old in 1901, meaning he was born in 1883. That means that if Blekinsop is the same person who is captured in Paris he would have to be 60* years old at the time... and that seem old. To old to be an agent. So, who is the mysterious Blekinsop?
* The the sketch it's probably set in 1943, since the letter from Saunders (I think that's his name, Mat's character in that sketch) is written in October 1943, and the letter they got from Blenkinsop (that they received three weeks ago) is dated 29th September.

Re: Rank insignia
it works with my very detailed headcanonit works with the info we have on those two :)))And I've always thought of it as Blenkinsop (until all this info came and BROKE IT xD), but I like the idea of a nephew etc! :D
