Round 3 - Return of the Meme
General Rules- Personal attacks and any kind of abusive trolling, hate speech, or bullying are obviously forbidden. Anon comments violating this rule will be deleted, signed in members will be banned.
- If your comment is deleted/screened/frozen and you don't know why, please email the mod at hhanonmeme@gmail.com. (If you notice it happening to your comments and you know they're safe, a quick email for the mod to come and unscreen them would be helpful also).
- Prompt posts will close to new prompts at 3,000 comments.
Prompting Rules
- One prompt per comment.
- Please follow the correct format (see below).
- Include trigger warnings in the subject line. Use your discretion and please be considerate.
- If your prompt is missing something, such as a subject or a warning, repost it in it’s entirety. It is not enough to reply to your own comment with the missing information. The mod will delete the previous duplicate comment.
- Multiple fills of the same prompt by different author!anons are allowed.
- If for any reason you start a fill but feel you can't finish the WIP you've created, and if you're happy to let someone finish it for you, put it up for HH Meme Fostering and Adoption.
- Prompts for projects other than Horrible Histories (ie. Spy, Gavin and Stacy, Rev, St. Trinian's, the O2 adverts etc., and RPF involving actors from those projects should be posted at the What? They've acted in other things?! post.
Format of Prompts
- Put [RPF] before RPF prompts.
- For crossover prompts: "[Crossover], HH Character(s)/Other Character(s), [Fandom]"
- Anyone, everyone, no one? Use "Other."
- Put [GEN] before GEN prompts, just so you don't get unwanted shipping.
- Use appropriate warnings. I'm trusting you all to know what that means.
- Don't embed any photos, videos or other media.
- Copy and paste links in full; anon comments with active coded links are marked as spam and the mod doesn't switch accounts often enough - it may be a few days before those screened comments are de-screened (see: emailing the mod a heads up if it happens).
- To make the archiving job easier, please drop a link to your fill/unprompted fic here at the fills post.

“Can you stand?” Jim asked, tenderness softening his voice. He pressed a kiss against the point of Mat’s chin, letting his lips slide up to press another one against his mouth.
Mat tried to find his voice, but failed. He just shook his head then rested it on Jim’s shoulder.
“Okay then. How about we get you cleaned up.” He brought one hand to rest on the small of Mat’s back, giving him some more support, while the other fished around his pockets looking for a handkerchief.
He gently, gently cleaned them up as best he could, before trying to make them look somewhat presentable. Mat just stayed pressed against him, needing to keep Jim close.
“Are we ready go home?”
Mat clung a bit tighter.
Jim lowered him carefully to the ground, then wrapped Mat’s arms around his own shoulders. “There we go, stay nice and close and lean on me, yeah? We’ll find a taxi, go back to yours, maybe have a shower, and curl up in bed.”
Mat nodded, then motioned towards the BAFTA sitting forlornly among the litter and dirt of the alley. Jim bit back a laugh, and leant down to pick it up. “It isn’t that important, really. I’ve everything I need right here,” he said, tightening his grip on Mat’s waist.
It was an uneventful trip back to Mat’s, despite the continuing closeness.
It was only once they were curled around each on Mat’s bed that Mat rediscovered his voice. “I love you,” he murmured, fingers curling softly against Jim’s cheek, marvelling at the rush of joy.
“I love you too.”
They shifted so that they were infinitesimally closer to together, and finally drifted off to sleep.

The night had acquired a vaguely dreamlike quality borne of alcohol and delight.
Jim slammed him up against the wall, kissing him fiercely. It was instinct that had his fingers clutching at Jim’s shirt and his leg trying to wrap around Jim’s waist. Copious amounts of alcohol meant he wasn’t really succeeding, but Jim pressed closer anyway so it did not matter too much about a slightly flaily leg. His body remained flush against Mat as he pulled away from the kiss, breath coming in short, sharp bursts.
“Mat, I quite badly want to have drunken celebratory sex with you against this wall right now,” Jim said, slurring just a little.
“I know, babe, me too,” he said, kissing Jim again. Gentler this time, a languid exploration of Jim’s mouth.
“But we aren’t going to, are we?” he said with a small sigh.
“’Fraid not.”
“Because someone will see us and take photos and then we’d get fired and we like our jobs.”
“Sad but true. You probably shouldn’t have slammed me against a wall, either.”
Jim pulled back immediately, horror burning across his face as he babbled, “Shit, I am so sorry. Mat, I didn’t- Mat, I am so sorry, I should’ve checked,” oblivious to Mat’s attempts to speak up.
Desperate times, as they say, call for desperate measures, so he pulled Jim forward again, kissing him into silence. “I didn’t say I didn’t like it, idiot. I’m just saying you won a BAFTA tonight, people are going to be looking for you and it would probably be best if we weren’t making out against a wall when they found you.”
Jim’s smile was slightly shamefaced, which Mat did not approve of, but his hand slid gently along Mat’s waist and he kissed Mat chastely on the lips.
“Though on a night where you are less in demand, you can most definitely slam me up against a wall in a semi-public place and have your wicked way with me.”
“Fuck. I- Fuck. You are awful and I hate you.”
“I am lovely and you like me very much.”
“Which is actually kind of a problem right now.” He takes a deep breath, visibly steeling himself to pull away.
The obvious effort to step back, to put even an inch of space between himself and Mat, had Mat preening. One day he would get used to that look of want on Jim’s face, would be able to fight the instinctive response to roll over and bare his throat, so to speak. That day, however, was not this one.
“We are going to get fired and it will be all your fault. Stop doing that,” he murmured as he leant in to press a gently sucking kiss on Mat’s neck, as Mat arched his neck in offering.
