During his Protectorate, Oliver Cromwell learns that a young man named Jamie Merry is holding parties, avoiding church, and otherwise being sinful~. He has Jamie brought to him and prepares to give Jamie a piece of his mind; surprisingly, Jamie just smiles and tries to seduce Cromwell. Determined to break Jamie, Oliver has him kept in prison/captivity and tries to wear him down. Jamie just sees this as a great game. Their relationship evolves over time.
