Date: 2011-11-29 12:48 am (UTC)*more Richard III for Jim is adorable
*Matilda and Stephen (especially with Simon as Stephen all tied up and polite...XD I am a bad person!)
*Eleanor and Henry II for being the most awesome/dysfunctional couple ever (Jim needs to be Henry II again cause he is so perfect for that and I want to see him get angry; some diplomat wrote about Henry having what amounted to a temper tantrum once XD)
*Piers (Lawry~~)
*William the Conqueror (Simon speaking French does things to me)
*Alfred the Great (Ben?)
*Henry V's stupid death (Larry was so adorable in the "Kings and Queens" song as Henry V)
*Abe Lincoln (...Simon! I'm sorry I just need more Simon)
*King John (Jim; he was supposedly short and it works with Jim being Richard III - he can be the go-to guy to play misrepresented monarchs)
*Henry VII (Lawry - he actually looks a lot like one of my favorite pictures of Henry VII)
*Cromwell letting the Jewish community worship in peace (GO CROMMIE!!)
*Hadrian/Antinous (because Ben or Simon with a beard being moody/tempermental with Mat the pretty boy is ALL good; bonus for Dominique as Sabine)
*Raleigh and the potato as an aphrodisiac (for the sheer goofiness and we need to reference the bit from "Merry Wives of Windsor" about someone asking for it to start raining potatoes)
*the role of women in Celtic Britain
*Katherine Parr (she wrote a book and debated religion with Henry VIII then survived his anger)
*Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (...H/W = Simon/Ben XD)
*Wright Brothers
*Louis Pasteur
*Prohibition (gangsters and flappers would be awesome)
*Jazz (Dominique as Bessie Smith would rock and we would have some wonderful musical numbers)
*Penicillin being invented
*something involving corsets

Date: 2011-11-29 03:52 pm (UTC)Well, in a few months I graduate with a history degree so my brain is stuffed full of history tidbits/theories/arguments.
Oh, those three - we just did them in our Roman Art class and spent most of the class debating what would we do in that situation. (THREESOME! :D)
I always felt bad for John - he actually stayed in England and did not sell off the sword reputed to be Excalibur, RICHARD LION HEART! Sorry, that always gets me. Plus, John actually tried to rule effectively; he just got the bad reputation because he didn't listen to clerical doctrine that much so the clerics of his day trashed his reputation.
I'm sad we don't have Modern English History so we never covered Piers in great detail, but just the idea of Lawry being this seductive git that Piers is portrayed as in the books I read about him on my own, is wonderful.
Oh, the weirdness I write. Mostly variations Jim/Simon or their characters right now, but I have quite a few other pairings/threesome/fourways in mind.
YAY!! *runs off to look at honeymoon deals* I'm thinking the UK!!! :D
Re: Bit of a random question here, but...
Date: 2011-11-30 04:32 pm (UTC)(THREESOMES ARE ALWAYS A LEGITIMATE WAY TO FIX THINGS! :DDDD) Seriously, though, they were all pretty awesome. I'm probably not supposed to fangirl Sabine but she was pretty fabulous~.
Ugh, I know! And yet Richard is always regarded as a better king! I mean, he wasn't the worst king - but he could be a right git and yet most people don't seem to recognize that. -_- And he wasn't exactly a religious man so of course the writers of the day (all monks) were going to be awful about him! Poor John. Poor, poor John. ;;
Piers is awesome, and especially around Edward II. :DDD I doubt that they'd properly reference their relationship, but considering what figures we've already seen (William II, Elagabalus...) I'm confident that we'd get enough hints to keep us ticking over for ages. :DDD
I'm fine with that! We can totally roadtrip around here, see all the lovely houses and such. :DDDD

Date: 2011-11-30 07:26 pm (UTC)(INDEED!! *waits impatiently for Charles II/Sotherby/Blood and Nelson/Hardy/Beatty to appear on the meme*) Why shouldn't we fangirl her?
Exactly - he was intolerant towards Jewish people and was more concerned about Aquitaine than England. Robin Hood legends just make it worse as they portray Robin runs off to the crusades with Richard and John is always "leading the country to rack and ruin" OR Robin trying to save England from John's taxes then gets knighted for his efforts by Richard when he returns from the Crusades. John was decidedly a more fascinating guy - he actually bathed regularly and had an early housecoat type thing, one of the first in England. Poor dear had a stupid death though - got sick from eating too much rich food after weeks of camp food.
Now who would be a good Edward II? Implications go a long way ;D THey believe in fanservice. *cough*hair-sniff*cough*
Yeah! :DDD Being American means I really want to see these places so much!!
